You may take a bus or train to
Kolkata, Siliguri, or Guwahati, then continue into Bhutan by road.
You can fly from Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, or Trichy to Kolkata/Delhi and onward to Paro, Bhutan. Another option is flying to Bagdogra and then traveling by road via Phuentsholing.
Indian citizens do not need a visa but require a permit and Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). We arrange the permits for you.
March–May and September–November are best for sightseeing and festivals. Winter is scenic but colder.
A 5–7 day itinerary covering Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha is ideal.
