Today you travel to the capital and largest city of Bhutan, Thimphu. Along the drive, enjoy snow-capped mountains, waterfalls, streams, and lush greenery. Take a short break in between to relax and stretch your legs. Admire the elevated view of Chukha Dam en-route. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Thimphu. Day 3
Thimphu to Punakha – Excursion
After a heavy breakfast, set out to explore Punakha – Bhutan's former summer capital. Thimphu to Punakha is around 77 km, taking about 2 hours. Attractions Covered: Dochula View Point: Located at 3100 meters, this pass offers 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and stunning views of the Eastern Himalayan range. In winter, the snow-covered scenery is breathtaking. Punakha Dzong: Also known as the Palace of Great Happiness, this magnificent fortress sits at the confluence of Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers. A major royal and monastic center. Suspension Bridge: Bhutan's longest suspension bridge, 180 meters long across the Mo Chhu river, decorated with colorful prayer flags—a perfect spot for photography.
